Objective: To establish an HPLC method for the simultaneous determination of eight constituents in Laokou pills(Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium,Cinnamomi Cortex and Caryophylli Flos,etc.) Methods: The analysis of methanol extract of this drug was carried out on an Elite Sino Chrom ODS-BP C18(200 mm×4.6 mm,5 μm) column at 30℃,with the mobile phase comprising of acetonitrile-water-methanol at a flow rate of 1.0 mL·min-1 in a gradient elution. And the detection wavelength was set at 280 nm. The injection volume was 15 μL. Results: Naringin,hesperidin,neohesperidin,cinnamaldehyde,eugenol,honokiol,magnolol and chrysophanol showed good linear relationships within the ranges of 26.669-400.031,26.803-402.042,13.335-200.028,2.566-38.484,4.272-64.086,19.994-299.908,26.682-400.223 and 1.068-16.014 μg·mL-1,respectively with correlation coefficients above 0.999. And the average recoveries(n=6) were 100.7%,99.9%,100.1%,100.9%,99.9%,99.9%,100.6% and 100.4%,with the RSDs of 0.77%,0.65%,0.55%,1.3%,1.4%,0.70%,0.56% and 1.3%,respectively. The contents of naringin,hesperidin,neohesperidin,cinnamaldehyde,eugenol,honokiol,magnolol and chrysophanol in three batches of samples were 1 487.42-1 678.33,6 203.50-6 982.31,1 272.29-1 410.19,236.49-292.03,1 869.33-1 896.70,3 767.62-4 073.41,2 879.84-3 250.23 and 279.55-301.75 μg·g-1,respectively. Conclusion: The method has high sensitivity and good specificity,and can be used for the quality control of Laokou pills.
