Objective To analyze the chemical constituents of volatile oil from peels of Cangnan Sijiyou.Method:The chemical compositions of the volatile oil obtained by steam distillation were analyzed by GC-MS equipped with an HP-5MS capillary column(30 m×0.25 mm×0.25 µm).The constituents were identified by their mass spectra. Their relative percentages were calculated with peak area normalization method. ResultFifty-eight chemical constituents in peels of Sijyou were separated; of which fifty-two compounds of the oil were characterized by MS with NIST. The major chemical constituents are D-limonene (47.51%), β-myrcene (18.63%), nootkatone (14.66%), ledol (2.09%), β-pinene (2.03%).ConclusionThe determination of chemical constituents of volatile oil from peels of Sijiyou will provide important foundation for further exploitation of Cangnan Sijiyou
