objective:To investigate the electrochemical behaviors of meso-2,3-dimercaptosuccinic acid (DMSA) self-assembled monolayer and that of dopamine (DA) at this modified gold electrode. Method: The electrochemical response of dopamine (DA) was studied by electrochemical method. Results: It was found the DMSA monolayer showed an obvious electrocatalytic activity for the oxidation of dopamine. At the optimum conditions, the peak currents of dopamine were proportional to the concentrations in the range of 6.0´10–7 - 8.0´10–5 mol·L-1with the detection limits of 5.0´10–7mol·L-1. The oxidation mechanism of dopamine (DA) was invested and some electrochemical parameters were also been determined. Conclusion: This method was rapid and accurate and the DMSA self-assembled electrode can be used to determine DA in the real sample.
